Introduction
This study on behalf of Tourism Bowen Island Association is an opportunity to think about tourism and consider how we may be able do things better. How do we balance tourism with community wellbeing? What are our current challenges and opportunities? In what ways can we manage visits more responsibly and mitigate problems?
Over the next few weeks, we’re asking residents, local businesses and others to share experiences, ideas and visions for the future. These conversations and findings will inform the development of a community-based responsible tourism vision for Bowen Island.

Tourism Bowen Island Association is a non-profit organization that recently received a grant to develop a tourism plan. It is a coincidence, but rather apropos, that this project coincides with park engagement.
